This magical tale is about young twelve-year old Stephanie who's uncle dies and leaves her his fortune. She then meets Skulduggery Pleasant and at first she can't believe what she sees and that he possesses magical powers. Then strange things start occurring and Stephanie's life is in danger and Skulduggery is the one that can help and save her. She is lead into the other world where there's magic, trouble, and villains, but she's determine to find out who assassinated her uncle. Stephanie, Skulduggery, and other ghouls become a team and outsmart the villains in the end.
